Opposes SB 849 - The "Rush to Kill Pill" Bill

Clackamas, OR – Life Support OPPOSEs SB 849 (a bill that would authorize pharmacists to dispense the Morning-After pill to teenage girls and women without a prescription): 

LIFE SUPPORT gives 6 Reasons to Oppose SB 849: 

1. Morning-after pills end human life (www.all.org/brthcnt.htm, www.morningafterpill.org/map2.htm)
2. Morning-after pills endanger women's lives (www.all.org/communique/cq941014.htm)
3. Ease of access to morning-after pills will increase pressures teenage girls already have for pre-marital sex
4. Another way to keep parents out of the loop
5. Pharmacists don't have the patient relationship/knowledge for dispensing potentially harmful medication without a prescription
6. In some states, allowing pharmacists progresses to forcing pharmacists (in spite of conscientious objections) 

David Brownlow, Executive Director of LIFE SUPPORT, said, "This bill is only advantageous to marketers of abortion pills.  It does NOT benefit young girls and women.  SB 849 is a “Rush to Kill Pill” Bill and should be opposed.”
