Clackamas, Oregon - In what is being called a health care emergency, HB 5077 would increase state funding for the Oregon Health Plan by $65 million “for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety.” (Sec.3)

However, history will not remember the lives saved by the Oregon Health Plan. Rather, history will document the number of unborn lives the Oregon Health Plan has destroyed. LIFE SUPPORT is calling on all Oregon legislators to vote NO on HB 5077, a “health care” spending bill that will result in the death of Oregon children.

Last year, over 4,000 Oregon babies were killed using similar OHP “health care” funds. Passage of HB 5077 will only add to the carnage being caused by the millions of state dollars that are funneled into Oregon’s legalized child-killing industry.

David Brownlow, Executive Director of LIFE SUPPORT had this to say about HB 5077:

"Make no mistake about it, included within this $65 million spending bill are provisions for a $403 bounty that will be paid for every dead baby the likes of Planned Parenthood and Lovejoy Surgicenter can manage to grind out of their state-funded abortion mills over the next few months. Hardly a good way to preserve ‘the public peace, health and safety.’ Pro-life legislators have no business giving another dime to Oregon ‘health services’ until we are guaranteed that no state money is being used to kill our children.”

Bob Ekstrom, LIFE SUPPORT Field Director, said:

“When we hear talk about ‘health care’ in relationship to the Oregon Health Plan, we need to think in terms of how many children have been killed using the money we have given to this rogue state agency. The body count is up into the tens of thousands. Until we can ensure that NO state money is being used to finance the abortionists, we need to eliminate all OHP funding.”

There is a larger battle looming ahead. If state-funded abortion money is allowed to remain in HB 5077, those same abortion dollars will certainly be included in the Oregon Department of Human Services biennium budget that is being finalized over the next two weeks.

LIFE SUPPORT is calling on our legislators to deny all funding to the ODHS and the Oregon Health Plan until we can be assured that no Oregon taxpayer money is being used to kill unborn Oregonians.
