FDA
and President Bush
Declare
War on the Preborn
Clackamas,
OR – As LIFE SUPPORT believes life
begins at fertilization, we are infuriated
with President George Bush and the Food and Drug Administration’s
decision to make the abortifacient,
Plan B, commonly known as “emergency
contraception,” readily available to women
over the age of 18 without a prescription.
We are even more outraged that not only could the assumedly
“pro-life” President George W. Bush had the power to avoid this, he
sped up this approval by his recent comment suggesting that prescription
sales were only necessary for women under 18.
Unfortunately, (and again!) the responsibility for the deaths of
an untold number of preborn children rests on the shoulders of our
federal government.
Plan
B is a deadly drug that – even according to its manufacturer – can
act to take the life of newly conceived babies in the days immediately
following fertilization. The FDA should not have authorized any use of
this risky drug regimen in the first place and it certainly should not
have made it readily available over the counter.
If birth control pills require a prescription, and Plan B is a
massive dose of birth control, why would anyone NOT require a doctor’s
and pharmacist’s involvement with this drug?
If
the FDA, the president or anyone who supported this decision truly cared
about the health and well-being of women, they would have demanded that
the drug be pulled from the market at once.
But, because the death industry is big business, their agenda
prevails.
Once again, the most
vulnerable of our society have lost. Thanks to this reckless decision on
Plan B, preborn children and young women are in peril. The role of the
federal government is to protect our rights, one of which is LIFE.
It is NOT the role of government to expedite the taking of life.
Shame on all those who supported this dangerous
policy!
