Condemns the Oregon Right to Life

Saxton Endorsement

Clackamas, OR - The news that Oregon Right to Life (ORTL) has endorsed Ron Saxton for governor, while shocking, comes as no surprise to those who have been watching this organization.  The fact is, ORTL has been endorsing pro-abort candidates for many years.  ORTL has abandoned all principle, even sacrificing their stated mission, in order to get their chosen candidates elected. 

It is entirely possible, and we at LIFE SUPPORT remain hopeful, that ORTL’s endorsement of Saxton is so blatantly anti-life, and so over the top, that pro-life Oregonians will finally wake from their slumber.  Time will tell.

There is good news.  Mary Starrett, the Constitution Party candidate for Governor, unlike her Republican opponent, has been fighting for the rights of the unborn for the last thirty years.  LIFE SUPPORT urges all pro-life Oregonians – and any others who want to bring some sanity back to the governor’s office – to vote for MARY STARRETT FOR GOVERNOR.   

David Brownlow, Executive Director of Life Support, said, “The ‘Oregon Right to Fundraise’ endorsement of Ron Saxton was inevitable.  This is because the pro-life charlatans over at ORTF are nothing but a Republican front organization, whose sole purpose is to deceive pro-life voters into giving money and votes to Republican candidates, regardless of their position on abortion.” 

Brownlow continued, “Warning to pastors: The 2006 ORTF voters guide will be a complete pack of lies - once again.  Every effort should be made to keep this deceptive piece of Republican propaganda out of church lobbies!”   

Lon Mabon, Director of New Covenant Ministries, Int'l and Field Director for LIFE SUPPORT, said, "For years I have watched the leadership of ORTL dumb-down the pro-life commitment. In the past, they have been more subtle in persuading their followers to vote for pro-abortion Republicans, but their open, public support of liberal, pro-abortion candidate Ron Saxton is shocking and unconscionable. We can only hope that those of their supporters who are truly pro-life will rise up in revolt. But for those whose heartfelt conviction is to support life, there is an alternative. Mary Starrett won't compromise her moral values as Oregon Right to Life is continuing to do."
